Totalled my car. Whats its insurance value?

Snowed up here last week and I slid into a curb.. it bounced me into a light pole with those cement bottoms. The driver side strut tower frame ripped in half. Ouch Amongst other probs. Now it looks like my car is going to be totalled. Waiting for my insurance company to come out for a second estimate of damage. Heres my question....How much money am I going to get for the car? NADA book value? I hope I am going to get near book value My insurance company wont tell me anything yet. I have to wait about 5 days to get an answer. I want to plan ahead for my next stang now rather than later. Can anyone shed some light on this for me?

Oh yeah..going to be selling some of my goodies on ebay soon. Will let everyone here know in advance.

Thanks for the heads up on friends car. I know the book value of my car...just wanted to see if anyone knew if insurance companies give you book value from kbb or Nada etc.. or if they use some insurance system for the cars value. I just have a terrible feeling im going to lose out on a lot of money on this car

Arrow

Insurance companys traditionally only pay out the wholesale value of a totaled car.

Sorry for your loss. Keep trying to get as much as possible from them. Argue the replacement value, find all the receipts you can on it. Once they decide they won't go any higher, ask them how much to buy it back. That way you can decide if it's worth the price for all the parts you can salvage off it for your next Stang. Replacing one or two wheels and tires is alot cheaper than a new set. Same for the ZEX kit. How's the interior? You can find another Stang cheaper with a trashed interior if you have one to replace it with anyway. Got big money in your stereo? Might want that back too. Just consider all the stuff you can re-use on a less than perfet replacement Stang to keep its cost lower.

my buddy's 88 5.0 was completely in primer waiting for paint and it was vandalized. The car was a complete roach for the most part and wasnt worth over a grand. Insurance cut him a check for 2000....
