I was in a little town here in IL where I used to live hanging out with some friends and stuff. We were in some chicks car driving around, passed a gas station and I seen someone I knew with their mom's 2000ish T/A, so I told the chick to pull in there because I remember the dude saying he would race me sometime. So I get out and ask him if he wants to run em, he asked where my car was and I told him I'd go get it, he agreed. So I went and got my car, two ppl wanted to ride with me so I was like whatever. That is just extra weight, plus I have a 150lb stereo system in the hatch.. so I was weighed down pretty freakin bad. As some of you may know, my car isn't running right at all right now.. I have 2 exhaust leaks and my MAF sensor needs to be cleaned... car runs like straight crap. So we head out of town a few miles on a 2 lane highway until we came up on a straight away where I stopped and waved him over to the left lane. I honked 3 times and we went from a stop, to my surprise I pulled him pretty bad.. atleast 2 car lengths all the way up to about 110. The Trans Am was an auto, I don't think he was manually shifting it but who knows. I left mine in drive the entire time. We pull onto a side road and he says the car wasn't running right and it was starting to overheat. Which I kind of do believe him, because that car should have raped me like mad. Anyhow, it was nice to beat up on a newer TA, even if the ****er can't drive and the car was acting up. I had a chick in the passenger seat, another dude in back, a huge stereo in the hatch, and a mustang that just isn't running right currently lol. Haha he also said, "it was fishtailing dude, I had to let out of it" I wanted to say.. "learn how to drive" but I didn't. *edit* if I had the 86 that night and the clutch was right I woulda beat him even if his car was running in tip top shape lol, just because that 86 was a 5spd. My god that car had balls from a stop, it would spin thru first but hook up in 2nd. My 91 is probably quicker, it just doesn't feel like it is because it's an AOD and it doesn't get completely sideways from a stop.. it just goes lol. Need a transgo shiftkit and 4.10's

Cool. My freind has a 95 T/A with an LT1 and he knows now that I got my 3.73s that I am faster. And his is a 6 speed.
They're quick cars, I'm just surprised I pulled on a newer one like I did. Before I bought my 86, I was looking at a 97 z28 with a 6spd. They are definately very quick cars. We took the 97 for a test drive, my cousin was driving and I was in the passenger seat. I was surprised at what them motors had.
