can someone tell me how i can make sure this car is a GT

May be in the VIN, probably something on the door sticker.
Someone here may know.
Call the Ford dealership service department with the VIN and check it for recalls. While you have him or her on the line, ask him if it's a GT VIN.

89 LX 5.0 5spd; Original paint, presentable. pro50 with setback Triax handle, retro 1965 knob.Cleaned and re dyed carpet, ordered Mach 1 upholstery in original scarlet and grey to match interior. Fresh gaskets on top, silicon hoses, plugs and wires. K&N drop in, snorklechtomy, freshened the rear end with 3:27 gears bearings and seals.
