Just turned 16. Any idea cost of insurance on 88-93 Mustang?
I just turned 16 and i want to get a 88-93 5.0 lx mustang. but my parents say that the insurance will be to high for me. Any ideas of how much that would cost for a 16 year old?
i am in your same situation, but after getting quotes from my company (progressive) i found out that the car will make a small difference in the overall cost if your car is under your parents name and your just a side driver, but you WILL end up getting slammed on the fact that you a 16 yr old male, they will kill you with ensurance there, i guess it also depends on where you live, i live in south florida, home to some of the worst drivers ever so it makes it even worse for me, hope this helps

I did the same as importkiller101, my parents put me as a side driver or whatever, and mine is only like 200 every 2 months which isnt too bad, when I turned 18 it dropped to about 150.

i pay 245 for the worst insurance you can get that is a month and i'm almost 21. tell ya something that helps dont drive like an idiot and get tickets and get cought street racing.
Definately go with an LX instead of a GT, you get the same power and a cheaper insurance rate. I don't know what it is but "GT" means more money to the insurance companies. I bought my 90 LX about five years ago for that very reason (cheaper to insure), I was finally able to pick up my 99 GT last year once I hit 26 years old.

I just turned 17, and have had my license for exactly six months last Friday. I currently have my own policy for my RED 89' GT, and am the primary driver. I pay $193 a month, without collision. But then again, three months ago I was clocked at 67 with the brakes on in a 50, and driving at 2:30AM on a provisional license.
EDIT: I currently live in western NC, and have insurance through Erie.
