two-tone paint job

well i am getting my car painted in two weeks and i still can't decide how to paint it. It is currently black, but i can't decide to keep it black or two-tone it orange and black. I really like the black but everyone around here has a black mustang and i don't want to be the same. I how you guys think it would look if i painted it orange below the body line (the one right below the windows and the top of the fenders) and above it black w/ some sort of silver pinstripe between the colors. Or if anyone has any pictures of cars w/ this kind of paint job could you post them. Thanks bolinger

black and orange is popular right now with the onset of the foose customs. he seems to use black and orange very often. it definately looks good, but you have to make sure you use the right orange. if it isnt the proper shade, it will look like a halloween-mobile. if youre going to get the two-tone black and orange, make sure you take it to a PROFESSIONAL, not just someone you know that has a paintbooth.

also, if you really like the look of the black, go with it! dont let other people having the same color paint deter you. but remember, black shows body error very clearly, so make sure your body work is GOOD. as for the orange, if you get the car painted all black, you can always add orange accent pieces. small amounts of color really make a black car. for example, you could get the small recess in the body molding painted orange (or stickered, if you can find the color). and you could get you could redo your ford emblem in the orange, instead of blue.

just some food for thought. best of luck, post pics!

So true about black showing every single error that the body has. I hate that. Not only that, but the jet black coloration I've got loves to have dirt/pollen/crap just STICK to it and not let go.

Anyways, black and orange would be a nice combination, you should definately look into it.

Take a representation of your vehicle into something like PaintShop Pro and play around with it, see what you like.

I always liked the fox with the factory black on top and the silver on the bottom with the red tape stripe in the door molding and finish it off with a set of weld drag lite wheels. My favorite fox color combo. Try www.cardomain.com the site may give you a few more ideas.
