Default bad things that have happened to your ride?

about a week and a half ago me and my buddy desided to race, he drives a 1986 mustang with a 88 5.0 in it and me well a 1984 5.0 auto, yes i admitt he beat me by like 4 car lengths but that wasn't the worst part, i seemed to have caused something to go wrong and seemed to have spun a rod bearing and possibly caused further damage, not to sure but its been in the shop for only about a week and im going absolutly nuts, but i guess it could be a good thing because i will be makeing alot of money so i guess that means a ford racing crate engine perhapes ... anyways share the stories.

Was driving on dry-rotted tires from New Jersey to Louisiana on a Road Trip to get my 'Stang down to my Duty Station. It had been raining in the morning but had cleared up by the time I had gotten on the Interstate, so, the roads were still wet.

In Atlanta, Georgia, the second I got on on I-20, I switch lanes, get into fourth gear and try to take off... the back end spins out from behind me, I lose control, she slams into a BMW in the next lane and we hug and spin out three times in the middle of the interstate (IN HEAVY TRAFFIC! )

Needless to say, the entire passenger side of my vehicle was FUBAR'd. And this was the first time I had driven the car since I had bought it.

Considering I was driving at about 60 MPH, I'd say I got off easy. The car still drove, I just end up bending a strut tower and denting the frame of the car a bit. Got the work done on it and fixed it, you'd never notice now unless I told you. :thumbsup

Oh, and the BMW had to get towed. German Engineering at it's best! HAH.

when i first bought my stang it also had some old dry rotted tires on it
on the first night of winter, it miraculously snowed about 5 inches here in pittsburgh....
i decided to stay at my girls house instead of driving home.

i go to back my car out so her parents can get in the driveway, and i hear a leak.... my tire had actually cracked from the cold...

also, my sunroof leaks a bit

and my fuel door dont work

and my interior sucks

Most Angry:
About 10-12 years ago I had Custom paint (wasnt a mustang, sorry, but at least it was a Ford!)...got scratched 3 days out of the booth by an NTW tire changing moron....got it fixed...and then it was keyed severely 2 weeks later at Springfield Mall. And the sad thing is I was in the Macy's garage as far from the door and pedestrian traffic as possible. Someone literally had to stop the car, get out, do the deed, and then drive off. Guess the were POed my ride looked better than theirs! Lesson Learned: Never take a custom ride anywhere that requires me to leave the driver seat.

Scariest:
In a Ford Ranger I had the output shaft and tail housing of the (manual) transmission break while passing an 18 wheeler - and the driveshaft flopped ALL AROUND under the body of the truck. It felt like driving 100 MPH over rumble strips, only worse, and I was right in front of the truck when it happened! Lesson Learned: When a rear grease seal leaks FIX IT. (It had been leaking and I just routinely added some fluid. Well, apparently it started leaking faster and I started maintaning it a little slower - and the rear bearings let go causing the shaft to bind and break the case.)

nailed a dear at 75mph, but that was and old car that deserved it. other than that the motor i built when i was 16 spun a bearing. that kinda pissed me off because i saved all summer to build the damn thing.
