Well . . . if next week goes as it should, I'm buying a Screaming Yellow 06. I wanted a Shelby until I found out how long I'd have to wait and the markup the dealers are getting.
Anyway, I found an 06 that was originally sent to Saleen to get done, but the deal fell through. It's a blank canvas. This car won't see much track time, but I'm thinking of a body kit, interior, T56, a Novi2200 blower, suspension mods, gears, and so on. I still haven't ruled out stuffing a 5.4 liter Aluminum GT motor in it.
Don't worry though, my little vert isn't going anywhere.
Hey Truuble, what's up? I thought, when I read Screaming Yellow 06, that it was a Z06. I've seen a couple of those the last few days. They are one of the coolest looking cars on the road.
The new stang sounds like a fun daily driver! Where's the ET's lately on the vert? So have you posted in the 05-06 stang forums here. I should go see what those have to offer. I'm always up for learning about sweet cars and people modifying them. Well, you best be posting some pics here for us to see.

Wassup Chris?
Last trip to the track was an unmitigated disaster. My clutch cable took a crap on me and I lost in the first round . . . which sunk me to 7th place overall in the series. I'm not real happy.
The good news is that there are two races to go and I still have a real good shot at finishing in the top four and going to the race of champions at the end of the season.
And . . . the Art Carr C4 is going in this week. That will make the car more consistent and definitely put it in the 10s.
I'll post up pics of the new one when I get it. It's going to need some work before I can drive it. . . if you know what I mean.
I am now planning for about 700RWHP on the 06 (seriously). I'm probably going to get one of the racing longblocks (buit for the 05-06) from Sean Hyland and throw a ton of boost, water/methanol and nitro at it. It's gonna be plain sick.
lol...I thought you were going chevy or mopar on us. hmmm....700+hp i like very much. damn i wish i had money! stupid explorer....thats the last time I listen to my g/f when i'm buying a car.

nothing for nothing but the aluminum block is not a good idea. the whole engine has to be done up with tighter tolerances and the block takes a long long long time to warm up. not to mention the distortion that heat causes to the block. you only save 100 pounds. is it worth the extra 5 to 10 grand to say its aluminum? many tear downs will be your downfall if not done right the first time.

I'm not worried about whether its aluminum (and they don't take long to warm up here in Arizona). I would hope that Sean Hyland knows how to build them right. We have a lot of guys running aluminum blocks out here with no issues.
Anyway, like I said, I don't care whether its aluminum . . . it just has to be able to hold some power. I'm still in the planning stages and .. in fact .. haven't ruled out using a lightning motor. I'm not worried about weight savings.
This car also won't see the kind of abuse that my current car sees. I doubt I will ever take it down the 1320, except maybe once for a "test pass." The reason I'm building this car is that my current daily driver is more race car than street car and I need something I can drive on the freeway and get my kids in without dropping the top to get them over the roll bar.
Don't get me wrong . . my car is fine for me to drive on a daily basis . . as long as I don't have more than one passenger . . lol. I just need something that I can take the kids to Dairy Queen in, or drive over to the coast from time to time.
Hard to drive on the freeway with my current car . . and even harder when my C4 goes in next week.
