I want to replace my seats. Right now I have gray leather with the gray and black interior and I just replaced the carpet with black carpet instead of gray. My seats arent ripped or anything but they are cracking and fading. I want to get black seats and I am trying to decide between putting racing seats in it or just getting the stock ones re-upholstered in black leather. Do you guys think racing seats are "ricey"? And for those of you with them in your cars, how comfortable are they? I have been looking online and I found that on Ebay I can get a set of 2 for about $200. I am looking for something like these only NOT carbon fiber, just plain black leather.....

well man, i dont think they are ricey.. when installed properly. if you have holes for four points, use four points. anything youre going to get for a decent price (like something off of ebay) is going to have them, and be universal. your seat level will rise a little bit, stock fox body seats sit lean and low. however, excuse me for being frank, but the cheap-o seats on ebay, and anything similar, in my opinion are a dangerous waste of money. these seats will be holding you in that car, especiall if you wreck. in my opinion, if you are going to be getting a racing seat, save the money, and get some high end ones. some recardo's, sparco's or something in that area. you will pay more, probably double... but you can get BEAUTIFUL seats that look exactly how you want, even ones that retain more of a stock look and dont have those goofy 4point harness holes.
just my opinions though. im all about safety here. speaking off maybe you should take this money and do some brake upgrades???

I came up with this idea. what do you think? I know for a fact that the seats
from the '94-'04 stang will bolt in, and sit right as long as you use your stock
rails. The seats in the 2001 Bullit are SWEET! Perforated in the centre, solid
on the edges. They are super nice. I would take the cheezy plastic seatbelt
holder off, it just unscrews underneath the headrest. IMO the seats would
look perfect in a fox. Sorry, no pics or links.

Well systronic, I do have cobra brakes that I will be installing very soo. The only part I am missing for the installation is the front spindles. As soon as I get those, they will be installed. I understand what you mean about buying better seats though. And 5.0forlife, I thought about putting seats from a newer stang in my car but I heard about the problem with them being too high. Are you sure that swapping the rails will make them the right height? I also thought the bullitts would look sick because they resemble the stock seats but have a better style (in my opinion.

Yeah, when we got this '01 Bullit in at the dealership I fell in love with it. Well
the colour, seats and trim pieces anyway. But yeah a guy I know has seats
out of a '98 6 banger in his '82 capri frankenstang. I'm not sure if these plain
seats sit higher than GT or Bullit seats, but these ones are comfortable where
they sit. The Bullit looked really lowrider to me, so they may be more sunken.

i think they sit a little bit higher man, but its not lik your going to be hittin the cieling... if you can get good seats from a newer stang, i say go for it. they wont be any higher than a set of recardos or corbeaus. the fox body seats are oddly low.

Well the reason I am kinda worried about the seats being high is that I am about 6'1" 210lbs and I dont want my head hittin the roof.....lol But I would really like a set of bullitt seats but I looked once before and just looked again and I cant find any for sale anywhere

Systronic they are called Recarro not " RecarDo" seats. And JBspeed86, I'm
6'3" and I was comfortable in the '82 frankenstang.

Hmmmm, I would really like to get some Bullitt seats, but I cant find them anywhere. The only ones I can find are like regular GT seat but I dont like those. Maybe Ill just stick with racing seats and get some nice ones.

Have you priced out the bullit seats at your local Ford dealership?
I bet they are pretty pricey, but you know they're good quality.
IMO, I would pay more for the bullits than any aftermarket seat.

you wont be able to get bullit seats at a dealer. they dont sell them or even make them unless the care is in production from what i have been told by dealers around here. i tried to order seats from a 2000 cobra and they said no way.
if you want a possible sweet set of seats.. try and find a cheapo set of cloth 2005/2006 mustang seats and you can buy the new boss mustang leather covers for them. they are SWEET and mimic the boss seats of olden days.

they are constantly parting out really nice mustangs, just click on the "parts cars" link.
i warn you, their prices seem a little on the high side, but if you want something bad enough....
