I am running 245/45/17 on my 87. Those tires you listed should be fine. I would double check the back spacing like GT said.

87 GT (UNDER CONSTRUCTION) new paint job, 306 w/ TFS stage 1 cam, TFS intake , still cant decide on heads.
It's really not the tire, but the width of the rim and backspacing. I have a 91 GT and I have 17 inch rims that are 10 inches wide and 20mm offset. I need 1/4 inch spacers for the front, but the rear is ok. I have 235/45/16's up front and 245/45/17's rear. I am getting 275/40/17's on the rear. I believe 88-93 mustangs need 18 to 20 mm offset(Backspacing). Not sure on 87 though...
back spacing is measured in inches..
offset is measured in millimeters...

My brother has 245/45-17 in the front and 275/45-17 in the rear and there are no rubbing problems at al except when turning to full lock the front rubs a little, but the rear has no problem at all. By the way they are 9" wide rims

If he is rubbing up front at full lock you can just put some Rack Limiters in, they are very cheap and easy to install.

Yeah I know about those. He just got the car a couple of weeks ago so were just doing the more important things first. His tires were bald so we got new tires, his radiator was cracked so I put a new one in and his sunroof was leaking so I put in some new weather stripping. We will eventually put rack limiters in but he can get by for now by just not turning it all the way.

Haha . no i didnt mean like it was a money thing, i just meant its not very high on the priority list so were not in a hurry to get them. Never think about it really, until he turns it too much, then its forgotten about a second later...lol

I run a 245/45/17 in the front and you don't have to turn the wheel fully to get some rubbing. Personally I think a 225 in the front is ideal for a fox. With some suspension mods you should be able to run a 275 in the back with no issues.

I run 245/45/17s up front too and the car is Lowered, BUT I have Rack Limiters so there is no rubbing at all.
