Default Want to sell engine....help please??

Hello everyone!! I joined this forum because I need help. Seems most peeps I turn to are not very knowledgeable.......

Anyway, a friend of mine recently passed away. I was left everything which includes an assortment of car parts. I hired a young man here to help me sort through things and in doing so we came across two engines, one being a 5.0 302 GT Mustang w/Auto Trans. The ONLY reason I know that is there is a homemade (meaning not factory type) tag attached to it. The kid feels sure it is a Mustang engine and is interested in it. My question is, how can I verify exactly what it is?? There are some numbers on it, but how do I tell what they mean? How do I know how much it is worth? The boy would like to work out a deal, and I have no problem with that, but I also don't want to lose out on it. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

gina

Guys there's a HUGE factor that's not known at the moment, and I'm not trying to screw anyone here, does the motor even run? How many miles are on it? Is ther ea spun bearing, a broken ring land or burnt piston? Yeah the block is worth a few hundred bucks and the tranny, if in good shape is worth about 500. No one knows the condition of any of this stuff though. So buyers, and seller, beware.

Hi everyone and thanks for your responses! Is there any way I can tell whether anything is shot on it? I do know Steve took it out of a car that someone else wanted just the body....he had his own engine. Thanks!!

Default More 'stang parts!

Hey guys, I also just found a box of trim for Mustangs. Not sure if this is the right place to post them tho.....I can post pics if anyone is interested. Found a box full of what looks like airplanes but I am pretty sure they are some kind of old fashioned trim!! (If ya haven't guessed by now, I'm not very auto-literate!!!)

Another thing to keep in mind is, Is the engine stock,! Price may very well change just do to bolt-ons, such as aftermarket headers or what not....

IF i were you, id post up a couple of pictures, close up perfered!! And would suggest you sell the engine out right! YOU cant give warranty on somthing your not sure of.!! First step? PICTURES! YUP!

5.0 stock = 350-650$$$$$$$
