well i just ordered my gears finally... from jegs... 3.73's with install kit and trak-lok rebuild kit. Total came out to around 300... not to bad. I decided on doing the install with my brother rather than getting it done because i was quoted from the dealership $750 for just labor!!! thats way too much... plus my brother says he's done them before and its easy... i just hope it goes smooth... prolly get around to doing it in a couple weekends. I can't wait to get them in though!!! Boogity boogity!

NICE!!! You won't be disappointed with 3:73s. I have them in my truck. Your car must be getting pretty fast now, huh? Remember when you first joined the site and your ride was just about bone stock?

thanks for the encouragement bro... i'm nervous about the install, but excited for the outcome! hehe hopefully these'll put me around 9 flat in the 1/8th... maybe better if i can hook good.
good luck bro' AOD here too, yeah like they all said, plus make sure backlash is good etc, now your gonna want tire money hehehe!!! mine has 3:55's but your gears even better it'll scream hard bro in every gear. Its how i bought my car it had the gears rest stock. then added to it later on, weekend projects when the money was right. let us know how you like em!! give them..
well, i wanna get it re-painted with a new hood and spoiler first... then intake manifold (gt-40 or cobra), then prolly a tranny rebuild, and then heads (afr 165's or 185's) and cam (e-303)... not to mention all of the smaller projects in between. and finally after im done with everything else, a 331 stroker shortblock... it'll be awhile. lol.
It's really not that hard to do but like mentioned take your time and triple check everything before you reassemble. A couple quick tips for you, boil the ring gear in water before trying to slide it onto the carrier and put the pinion bearing in the oven for 30 minutes @200* and it will slide right onto the pinion shaft effortlessly. Good luck with the install, you won't be disappointed.
