well, i've got my new radiator support coming, and i bought a new 3" cowl hood (100 bucks!) and i needed to get some work done to prepare...
my a/c core was all banged up from the small wreck, and one of the lines was leaking... so i just went ahead and cut it all out :O
its a race car now im excited again... i almost sold her for a motorcycle... real glad i didnt.
i might have an opportunity to switch to a 460 cid.... that would be fun
anyway, between hood and a/c parts, ive already lost nearly 100lbs.. if anyone has some more suggestions for weight loss, id like to hear 'em! k-member is definately getting replaced... anything else?

i got SUPER lucky on it. I went to buy my radiator support to replaced my extremely bent one, and saw that it had hood pins in it... so i though to ask, is there a hood that matches this lime green drag car? and sure enough, there was! 3" cowl for a hundred beans... real nasty color, and needs alot of prep work, but its pretty awesome for 100 bucks!

Alum driveshaft will drop some weight. Also you can go to a manual rack, you'll loose weight not only in the rack but you loose the weight of the pump and lines. Alum radiator helps to, loose the fan while your at it and go electric.
Alum flywheel is another weight saver, though I'm not crazy about mine, I think there more effective with higher HP engines

ive decided to go manual rack after some research. I cant convince myself to do the alum shaft, but the alum rad is definately a must. im going elec fan as well, because my clutch fan exploded into plastic shrapnel when i wrecked.
lol.

You might try getting an alternator tensioner setup so you can yank the AIR pump as well as the 15 or-so pound bracket that it and the stock tensioner mount to.

where would i find such a setup? keep in mind that the a/c pulley and p/s pulleyt will no longer be their either. will it still work out?
i figured i could just have a short belt... all that would be on it is the alternator, tensioner, and water pump / crank... right?

I bought my tensioner from Jegs, it was like $60 or something. if you pull the p/s pump you wont be able to route the belt without running it in the wrong direction and with a really small contact patch. you could go with an electric water pump and just run the alt. if you were really ambitious
