Don't remember if I told anyone here my plans for the winter or not but one of them was welding all the holes in my engine bay, and it turned out really well. It is now in primer and ready for a final sand then it will be painted and clear coated. The whole car is also getting stripped down and re-painted. It is going to be BMW Le Mans blue, getting rid of the 2-tone. Here is some pics of the engine bay for now, will post up a few more when I paint then engine bay, drop the new motor in, and then some more when the car is completed in the spring.

Also just for reference, here is a few pics of what I stared with. As you can see I also had some major repairs to do on the passenger side where it looks like someone got into an accident with the car and just replaced the fender and front bumper cover a while back, laving the engine bay bent up.

Awesome job with your car, it is cars like yours that made me want to do mine. I had to keep a few holes open that I noticed you did not have, but I have tubing and fuel injection stuff to keep around. Can't wait to get the motor back in there.

i am in the midst of plumbing up my nitrous and afew other mods. so as soon as i am done i will take afew more pics. i had pics of when i painted the whole car this past summer. i stripped the entire car down. i had everything off the car. including the dash out, front k-member,rear end. i undercoated the chassis and had some things powdercoated so i know what i have now. it actually was abit overwhelming at one point. i was wondering if i could get all back in working order.took alot of patience and many cases of beer.so keep pics comin from your end. i love to see different ideas from ppl. and good luck!!!

When I had the engine out of my car I was able to clean it up, but didn’t have a garage at the time so all I was able to do is degrease it clean it up and then paint it with rattle can, wish I was able to get it that good….well one day maybe.

Thanks for the comments guys, there have been a few days so far where I would just get frustrated and almost feel like quiting. But hen I start to think about the end result and just force myself to keep working. I still have a couple months to go till it is done (I hope) but now with the engine bay out of the way things on the body are going very smoothly (knock on wood).

good job matt. you need to remember, take one thing at a time. if you try and tackle too many things at once it will be your downfall. as always, good luck and god speed!!
