watz up guys! i was wondering wats your opinion on a race. my homies friend has a new mini cooper its supercharged i dont know there horsepower but i know there light. these dude says he smokes 99-04gt like notting he said when he was with 4 guys in the car he raced a 04 mach 1 and lost by 2 cars but he knew if he was by himself he would win. i already said yes and now im kind of shiting bricks. im currently breaking in my rebuilt engine (stock 302) my current mods are 3.73 gears, shorty equal headers, x pipe, flowmaster dumper, cold air intake, edelbrock performer rpm manifold, 70mm throttle body, b&m short shifter, no a/c and smog. i dont know how much horsepower im pushing(my guess is 210-220rwhp) i know i could take him on takeoff but top end i dont know? the raced is set up for a month from now (let my engine breakin) are those little shits fast or not? what do you think would be the outcome? should i be scared or not? he only has an intake thats it!
I'm calling bullshit on your friend. Enough said. Mini Cooper s does 0-60 in 7.7 seconds with the works tuning kit, which I am sure he does not have..6.7 seconds. Look, I love minis, but your buddy is way overboard on his boasts.
As far as I Know the supercharged mini is a 1.6 liter engine with around 165 hp. The car weighs 2500 lb most people are suprised they weigh that much because they are so small. I think the 0-60 was right around 7 sec stock and the quarter in mid to high 15. With your mods you should win.

tell him if hes joking that things got 168HP & 162TQ, 0 to 60 7.2, FWD, and i dont think hes got the mini cooper S stage 3 that thing does 0 to 60 5.9.
A stock 5.0 gt was capable of running 0-60 in 6.2 with 5 speed and quarter in high 14s. Your engine has 8k miles so almost like new again. Even if the mini has stage 3 with your mods you should win.

Ok... now that I can read that.
Anyways, you'll take him, hands down. Just practice your launches and make sure you've got a good hook-up. But, those mods place you well above the ability of that S/C'd Mini.
the fox body mustang ant that much hever the the mini and 3times more motor then the mini plus mods you will take him and i think your car will take the 04 mach 1 he lost to
HAH you should take him Np man. My stang is runnin 14.5s with the mods on my sig. all you gotta do is Launch at around 2,500 RPM Play with the gas untill it hooks, and laugh when its all over thinking you were scared of...A MINI!

Unless he has more Mods then he is telling everyone you should stomp his mini driving a%&! I raced a friend of mine one time, my Probe GT turbo against his 350ci powered '71 Chevy lowboy (which I usually picked on all the time) and he blew me away. Come to find out he installed a 150hp fogger NOS in it, with out me knowing. Little did he know that the NOS would be the death of his motor shortly after that race! Detonation is a hell of a thing to watch!
