The tune I'm talking about isn't just the SCT Xcalibrator. Tuning a car yourself using pre-made files is fine but I don't think SCT makes one for the 94-95. I really don't think I've seen much of anything for the 94/95 computer that is just pre-loaded tunes to load up.
The price I was speaking of was for a custom chip made at the Dyno shop for my car with my setup tuned by a professional and normally takes 2-3 hours on a dyno (I've seen upwards of 8 hours for a supercharged 94/95).
They put it on the Dyno and check air/fuel, spark curves, injector duty cycles, fuel curves, everything... Then tune it through the RPM band to make the most power. I want to say the local guy I go to around here (the guy that does Hypertechs) said SCT has something like 150+ variables at 500 RPM increments... So that gives a TON of adjustability and tunability.
Yea, if you can find a plug and play it'll work, but to get the most out of it get it on a dyno.
