Default Problems with 1994 Mach Audio Deck Swap in a GT

My cd player stopped working, it wouldn't pull in the disks. So I thought I could just swap out the deck. No where seems to know how to do this. I have heard that i would have to re wire the entire system, but it seems like there has to be a way to change the deck without that. Does anyone know anything? Its a 94 GT with the mach audio. Please, any help is greatly appreciated.

you should be able to just slap in an aftermarket deck no sweat. you may need to hardwire the deck in, if you cant find the proper adapter.
at most, i could see the stock amplifier losing functionality, but it would still work.
