Default How do you determine what size rear end you have for a gear install?
I have decided on the 3.73 Summit rear gears. Now the only question I have is how do I determine what size rear end I have so I can order the gears. Choices are 7.5,8.0,8.8,9.0. I have a 1990 GT 5.0 5speed. Also any ideas on prices for this install??

If its stock rear end, its 8.8.

They seem to be the best choice and standard choice for the 5.0 with a 5 speed. I say u will like em!

installation can range 250-500 dollars

also when purchasing you gears you will need the install kit & you might as well rebuild the traction loc.......
