Default T5, What transmission fluid should I use?

Hey guys,
I have been going through thread after thread trying to figure out what I should use for fluid on my T-5, but the there are 50 diff answers. I was told the tranny was rebuilt when I got the car, and I want to check to make sure it has enough fluid in it. Maybe possibly add some if low, if not just drain it all (to make sure I don't mix 2 kinds as I don't know what's in it now) and fill it back up with new stuff. Now what should I use? I read that synthetic is not the way to go, but then that it is? I know this has probably been answered many times but im confused here...thanks to all in advance!

I put RP in my old one. It dissolved the Synchro facings. Gotta love it. In all seriousness be careful what brand synthetic you put in it. I learned the hard way and had to buy a new trans.
