Default 1988 GT 5.0 Interior color change

I am going to be changing the color of my interior, the car is silver and it has the canyon red interior. (I hate it more then anything) So far I have found almost everything I need from 50resto or mustangsunlimited to replace everything, but a few things I can't find are the quarterpanels in the back, or the plastic in the hatch. Are those one of the things that you can't really find other then in a junkyard? Or would the interior spray can paint that 50resto sells work the just as good as a new one? because there's also part of the dash that is red
Weird thing is, and if someone can answer this for me that would be awesome is that I have an 88 GT, and the canyon red (from as far as I have found) only came in 84-86 models...so why do I have it?!

The color was a sick ford joke. But a junk yard is about your best bet and u can repaint them it is better to repaint the same color than to change it completely.

I plan on just going black, all black. seats, dash, carpet, all. I know it's not really what was stock but I still think it will look awesome in a Silver car. Plus I wouldn't have to worry about matching colors, black is pretty much black. (assuming I would use the same brand/color code etc).
and LOL @ sick joke from ford, I second that one! I still don't know why it's in my '88. Should have been gone since '86...

I just did this swap to my car from blue to black, i got all oem black parts except for the 1/4 panels cause my car is a 89 coupe and the newer 1/4 panels dont fit. So i dyed them with the dye that 5.0 resto sells and they came out great, i replaced the carpet from acc and it came out really good.

Sweeeetness! Alright that's the stuff I was looking at on 50resto, I'm glad to hear it worked well for someone so that's a LOT cheaper then replacing everything. Some parts that I can get black I probably will but either way. Now I'll just have to decide if I want to paint the car first, or switch out the inside first. ahh...money, money, money...

My best advice is to get the high wear items oem black

for example: kick panels , door sills and speaker grills, the rest can be dyed theres a bunch of guys who have done this

go to the corral . net
theres pics and everything.
