hey everyone! as you can see im new to this, so dont make fun of me. but im looking into getting a foxbody 5.0 mustang. preferably fuel injected 87-93 hatchback. i just wanted to know what you all thought of this one i found. it is a 1990 with 200,000 miles. the guy claims its all highway with the origional clutch (if this is true then that must mean it was well taken care of). it has been garage kept since 1992 and its only had two owners. this guy bought it in 92. the interior and exterior look amazing. he wants $3500 but i think he will go down to atleast $3300. with the mileage being that high is this car reasonably priced? and what else should i look out for when buying one? thanks
thats a lot of money for a car with 200k on but they do go all most for ever but a would not pay more then $1500 for a car with that many mils

If you want the baddest factory fox body out there, check ebay! My buddy is selling an original 1993' Cobra with 6x,xxx miles, but it's ALOT more than the 90' your looking at lol. A regular fox 5.0 w/ 200k would have to be pretty damn clean, to go for $3500. Check craigslist, you will come across some pretty good deals.
BTW, we're in VA as well. The guy selling the Cobra has about 5 more fox's he is building as well. He could hook you up with whatever your looking for, from highly modified to just about stock, all depends how much your looking to spend. PM me if your interested or want to see his collection.
Yeah that is kind of crazy. Well for comparison, I paid $3500 for my old 86, and it was clean as can be. Only had 84k original miles on it. Interior/paint was amazing, it was EFI.. but the 86 was the worst year for the foxbody.. it had crappy heads. The car ran like an ape, prolly just as good as my 91. And it has the better E7's(that are supposedly ported). The 86 would spin in 2nd and hit 3rd hard everytime.. with the 91 all I get is wheelhop.

im not trying to be rude but i would in NO way pay over 1200 for that thing. take your money and go else where. You can find a much nice ride for less.
look through ebay there is tons of mustangs in virginia i seems.

start from there. if you do an advanced search you can limit by milage. I bought my jeep on ebay. Just make sure they have near perfect feed back and would be willing to let you call them if not look at it if its close.

i cant seem to find anything for $1200 in virginia but an old honda civic or a stupid cavalier. ive been looking at 5.0's since i was 12 years old. and the decent looking ones are always like 4-5k. i know thats alot of miles but i thought it was somewhat reasonably priced. but im not that sure thats why i asked. and i was driving around today and saw another one for $3000 obo. and it was alot more beat up. but i think he would go down in price alot. heres some pictures of that one. let me know what you think
I wouldn't pay nearly that much for a car with that many miles on it. I also sincerely doubt that the clutch is original. Gotta factor in everything here. If it's all stock with that many miles on it, I'd pass, personally.
If you've been looking at Foxes since you were 12, than you're looking in the wrong places. I paid $4,500 for mine and it had every bolt-on mod you could think of, basically, already done to it. It was turn-key dream! Try looking out of state for something, check classifieds and just look!
I understand how you want to jump on the first Fox you see and claim it as your own, but you've got to search the market for the one that just calls to you.
thats what im getting at...i want a pretty much stock one. i dont want to buy one with all the upgrades done to it. i want to do it all on my own. plus if it has performance parts on it, then chances are its been beaten to hell. i want it to be reliable. but what do you think of the red one i posted a picture of? what would you pay for that? (stock motor)
I bought my 90 gt on www.mustangtrader.com for 3,500 dollars. The car was all stock with 124,000 miles, Female owned for the first 14 years of its life and judging by the way the 5-speed shifts(no syncro grinding) and the condition of such things as cracking in a and c pillar areas of the car and the torque boxes under the car I could tell it was not abused. The only problem that the car had when I bought it was an oil pan gasket leak. If stock is what you want than you will find one if you look hard enough. There are stock mustangs that are in mint condition that will cost to much money but if you look hard enough you will find a mustang with honest wear and milage for the money. Remember cosmetic stuff such as trim is easy to fix, the parts that count are the unibody not being rusted to pieces, the engine not making funny noise or burning to much oil, the tranny shifting smooth and the rear end working properly. Minor rust or a faded paint job do not make a bad car. You can buy an all stock car that is beat to death but your chances of buying a modded car that is beat to death is always a greater risk.

thats how i feel. i think i found what im looking for. funkyboss hooked me up with someone he knows and i found a really nice one. ill let you all know what i decide. thats for all the help
i bought my 93 lx 5.0 5 speed for 2600 133k miles runs great only problem i had is TPS it came with 65 mm TB, 3.73's, electric fan, king cobra clutch, cold air fenderwell intake, white faced gauges ( waste of $ in my opinion) short throw shifter, plus a cobra R hood so if you look you can get a lot more bang for your buck but i will admit mine needing a heater core and having a rebuilt from salvage title might of had something to do with it.... but hey somehow now the title says 4 cylinder even tho the the VIN matches 5.0 so cheaper insurance 2
