I've had my 94 Mustang GT for about 4-5 months now and have finally learned the joy of owning a Stang. My Moms dad used to work as a ford dealer who loved Mustangs, so naturally my Mom is a Stang fanatic, and of course its part of me now seeing as I can't stand anything but a nice Mustang. And like most of you I want to do whatever I can to make this Mustang unique and stylish.
First I have pictures of my car with its stock aluminum 17" rims and a second picture I made with 17" cobra rims. I really like my stock ones but chrome is just too hard to resist! what should I do!?
Right now I've got the clear corner euro lenses on, and I'm purchasing neon blue ground effects (lights). I want to paint the interior bezel the same color as the exterior, put a new gauge in (white face w. blue indigo), and paint the break calipers the same color blue.
Another question is should I put on racing stripes? Would this add or ditract from the appearance?
Can anyone reccomend good headlights and fog light bulbs that will create a prominent and strong blue tint seen on some luxury cars?
Should I put on a 4 piece grill on the front?
And what kind of exaust system can I upgrade to that will give my Stang a louder beefier sound as well as a noticable performance boost?
Anything else I can do?
Blue windshield whipers?
If you guys and gals can think of anything I can do...or shouldn't do...let me know.
As you may have noticed I love the color blue and searched for months for this blue 94, as they are extremely hard to find these days, and I just want to have fun with this as well as make it beautiful.
I respect anything you guys can tell me because you know what the ins and outs are of Mustangs.
Well as far as appearance, it all depends on the driver.
As far as the cobras, A lot of people have em.. so they are "in" but it depends on if you want to be different or trendy...
SilverStar light bulbs are really bright and give a DOT legal blue tint.
Racing Stripes can be awesome on a car... (Chevelles, Cudas, Camaros) but some, like seen on the aftermarket crowd can be gawdy... it depends on what style you're looking for.
Check out MustangExhaust.com they have a lot of good sounding exhausts there...
By the way, some people dont agree with it but dont get discouraged. I wouldnt recommend putting false badging on your car, (GT on a V6, Cobra on a GT) etc...
I did a bit to upgrade the appearence to my 90, but I think when it comes to my new 03 I'm planning to get shortly, I have learned one thing. The more add ons I put on the car, the more cops like to bother me, so I'm thinking from experince to keep the car looking pretty stock outside and making all my mods to the insides (motor, etc...) Just my thoguhts (and first post on here too )
well im gonan be making my motor close to 350 hp in spring and want to change the look to cobra look so i already got the cobra bumper and badges. but wont put those on till after the motor work. i thought it would be fair play to warn the ricers thats its more than a gt...but then again i would love to strick with a sleeper, perhaps v6 badges???
but i discourage the trendy stuff you mentioned, the neon under body's, indiglo guages. if you wanwt to stand out, dont do that, you'll just become one of the already too many ricers out there. thats just my taste....and opinion. if u want look, get those cobra wheels, leave the gt badging till you beef er up some.

BADGES, we don't need no stinking badges !! I have to agree with Spyder, the Euro trendy stuff really looks tacky on what I consider a bone stock beauty. From the 60's to the 00' all the Stangs look good with stock body pasrts. Spend your money on the horses

definetly go motor before anything else. ive always been a fan of leaving the exterior of a car stock. if you dont like the way it looks, dont buy it?? i love the way my car looks just the way it is.. and i wont touch it. just looking for more horsies and less seconds on the time slip

Well I was going to go vortec exhaust with 2 1/2 inch chome tips, an X pipe w/catbacks. Some kind of intake, Im not sure what kind yet. 2 1/4 headers...maybe..
Anyone reccomend brand names that are reliable?
Comeone people make suggestions based on your experience thats what Im here for

Headers get the exhaust gasses out, the faster the better (up to a certain point).
Depending on engine size or modifications you will need larger or better headers.
The stock 94-95 5.0 headers are more less ok, but not perfect. Just look at where the header attaches to the heads. Each pipe has a noticeable kink that reduces exhaust flow.
Those kinks are present to allow the BIG assembly plant tools to install the header bolts.
A good header has smooth bends and no kinks, this improves exhaust flow and performance.
Now, size choice as i said depends on engine type or modifications, so if you go too big, you loose exhaust speed, and performance.
Headers with 1 5/8 primaries is about the perfect choice for a stock or mildly modified 5.0 engine. Its an improvement over stock of about 10-12 HP.
Next..types: there are basically 3 header types: Shorties also called UN-Equal Length, Equal length and Long Tubes.
Shorties are the most used, and each primary is a different length while "Equals" have equal length primaries and more bends.
Equal length headers perform a little bit better than shorties but INSTALL is a pain in the Rear and burning plug wires is common, so most people select Shorties for that reason.
Long tubes have very long primary pipes, which help promote HP and Torque, but you need a shorter X or H pipe, and with that comes extra expense.
Anyway, go buy a set of "shortie" headers, of which i like BBK.
There are better brands such as Ford Racing, JBA, Bassani, but all are more expensive, the choice is up to you.
I didn't like it at first, but then I bought one. It took awhile to grow on me, but now every time I see one, I start to salivate.
I sold that car, though, to buy my '89 GT 'Vert.
For wheels, the '98 GT wheels look really great with that color, and if you add a drop to the car, it'll be even sweeter.
Exhaust: if you can get 3" chrome or stainless tips. . . AWESOME!
If you need mufflers: I have a pair of new, 2.5" MAC Mufflers that I need to sell ($90 + shipping; retail is $110 or more + shipping)
That blue car of mine is still around town, and the kid that owns it now has put neon all the way around it. If I can find him, I'll see if I can't snap some pictures for you.

I was actually looking at the 2000 GT Chrome 5 spoke wheels on ebay the other day. They are similar to cobras but instead of cobras they have everyones favorite pony in the middle of them!
I was definitely going to lower it at some point and maybe tint the windows?
I dont now about 3 " chrome tips, I was thinking more 2 1/2 but I'd have to look at them.
Thanks
Steve

3" tips are just right! They're mean and agressive looking, and aren't too big to be excessive. 3.5" would be the max. After seeing 2.25" tips on my first Mustang, the 3" are 100 times better.
I've attached a sig file I made, and it's the only pic I can find right now. If I find more later, I'll post them
