my buddy has been building them for years...he owns full throttle performance here in indy...and has been racing his mustangs for years and is well known around here for building some of the meanest mustangs you will ever see...he has multiple 8sec. mustangs...and from what he has told me about the 347 for some reason if you drive like me or him...they all have to be rebuilt around 90k...and they 331 will go to around 120k b4 it needs rebuilt...im sure there are people out there that will back me up on this one.

WHY would they have to be rebuilt at 90K miles? or 120K miles? Why would any engine "have to be" rebuilt with so few miles?

Old thread, but thought I'd bring up some opinions. I honestly don't feel that cubes matter too much anymore. I've seen 1400hp lancer evo's (I believe they had to use a 2.4L instead of the 2.0L, but still). 900+hp stock block 03 cobra's with 4.6L. 500 hp 575's. It doesn't really matter anymore in my opinion. The only thing that matters is how much money you have, that can best describe what build you can afford. I could easily make a V6 mustang outrun a 347 stroker. (Then again, it's bragging rights to say you have a stroker)
