Default Draglite, Rodlite, Dragstar fitment on 1979-1993

I apologize I did a search and found multiple threads on this, but could not find anything definite. I was hopeing if people that are running any of these wheels could post pictures and give specifications on the wheels and tires you are running and if you did or did not do any modifications to fit. It seems the most common question is whats the fatest tire and wheel for rear with no mods and what tire do you run on the front on a skinny 3.5-6 inch wheel, backspace was also a big question. So sorry again if this is kind of a repost of a repost but if yall can help me gather the information for one thread i think it would answer a lot of questions.

Clint,
This is one of the best articles I've seen on fitting the Weld wheel to the Fox.

I have 15X8 weld draglites with the 5.5 back space on the back of my 89 with 275/50/15 Mickey Thompson ET street radials. They rub on the inside like crazy when I turn. I had to remove quad shocks and I beat on the inner wheel wells some too. The wheels came on the car or else I would have got the 4.5 back space. Lucky for me I don't have to turn much!

I'm running 15X7 all the way around, on the front I have 4 1/2 backspacing and the rear has 3 1/2. This gives it a deep offset look. I'm running BFG 195/60 on the front and street 235/60's on the back. I had to modify the brake caliper mounting bolts for the front, and roll the inner fender lip on the back. I know this is due to the 3 1/2 inch backspacing for the rear. On a 3 1/2 wide front wheel, you can put on up to a 185 although the most common is a 165.

I got a 1993 Gt 15x10 (6.5 BS) out back 15x6 up front. I removed the quad shocks, sway bars, massaged the fender well, rolled the lips. The rear 295/50 15 would rub on turns.
I was looking for a racing tire so i bough 275 50 15 MT Drag radials and it they work GREAT. They dont rub at all Inside or out. It takes turns like a champ and bumps like there is no tomorrow.
here are some pics of my car I will post the car with the MT's on tomorrow.

So, let me tell you what I want and tell me if it'll work. 91 GT factry hieght but will be having some drag springs eventyually. Looking at the weld draglites or stars with a 15x8 and 4.5 BS with a 275/50/15. I like the look of the tire being flush with the fender. So, do I need the 5.5 BS and the 1/4 wheel spacer. I know this tire should be a 26" tall tire so will it rub or what. By the thats a nice looking notch. Thanks for the response.
