Default Spyder EFI Intake - Have Some Questions

Hey, boys.

Recently, I was looking at purchasing a Spyder EFI Intake system for my 331 Build. For those that don't know, a Spyder EFI Intake system is an aggressive Intake, meant more so for higher RPM applications. The intake takes a normally Carburetor lower intake and modifies it to accept Injectors and pairs it against a "Power Elbow" upper intake. It's pretty bad-ass, in my opinion.

As I was looking into purchasing this intake, I came across a snag.

Here are some pictures to give you an idea...

Pretty cool, huh?

Well, it just suddenly struck me the other day as I was sitting at my Office Work Desk...

Where are the Vacuum Ports?!

How do I hook up Vacuum in this thing?

I'm aware it's a Carb Lower Intake, but usually the Vacuum runs off the upper. I also noticed no spot for a PCV Valve! What the hell?

Does anyone have any experience with these things?

How would I setup Vacuum?

I'm really stumped on this one. I noticed a few ports that I'm not too sure what they do, like the large hole on the Upper Intake's Power Elbow. Really, I have ZERO experience with this thing. Really leaving me stumped...

Anyone?

I got my answer. Turns out that the hole on the upper intake that I was looking at would be the spot for a barbed fitting that you would screw in and use for the Vacuum. So, problem solved.

Only the guy ended up selling it to someone else for more money. Can't say I blame him!

*sigh* The quest for the right Intake continues...

I'm thinking that a single plane manifold might be better with that setup.

Nothing wrong with the Spyder, it'd be like the Comp Polymer intake in that it prefers the upper rpm range. The only engines I've seen them on were 351 based strokers and made serious power.

I liked it for the sole fact that it is different. It's not something you see everyday on Street / Strip built monsters. Figured it would have been a good conversation piece.

Still keeping my eyes open for some good deals.

I ran one of these on my TT 86.

Its so easy to tune and work on your car. If i ever get another 5.0 i will never run anything else.

Being different is not always good, I too have only seen these on drag cars….there may be a reason why you don’t see them on street cars.

I would go with something proven like trick flow or a holly intake.

on a 331 with forced induction it will be a very good combination with a good tune.

For A N/A 5.0 of course this is way over kill.
