Default Where to get good deals on 5.0s? (rant as well)

Well, im selling my Firebird to finance my new project, a GTX (see sig). Im also buying a parts car for it, which is going to leave me with about 200 dollars left over to start saving for another car! Im looking to get a clean 5.0. Id like to limit my budget to 3 K, but im willing to spend 4 for the right car that actually fits my description. But this is DAMN NEAR impossible! Every 5.0 on ebay and other big time sites seems riced out, the back is lower than the front, and the interior is wrecked and they want 4 or 5 K and its pushing 150 K miles, and its obviously been beat thorough hell and somehow made it back. I just want a nice clean, stock or near stock 5.0! 5 speed, with around 100K miles. NO POLISHED COLD AIR KIT PIPE! If I see another one of those ricer P.O.S.es on a Mustang I think im going to puke! Does anyone know of a site with a good amount of decent deals on clean 5.0s?

I found my mustang by looking through these sites:

www.autotrader.com
www.cars.com
craigslist.org

You should ask around about local auctions too, which is another good place to pick up used cars for cheap. If you keep searching and give it some time you'll find what you're looking for.

Hmm, havent checked craigslist yet. I usually check it, but thats not a bad idea. By auctions, do you mean police auctions?

well yeah you cold try police impound auctions but thats a long shot. I don't know about your area considering I've never been there but in Phoenix we have auctions where people bring what they want to sell on the auction and get rid of it as is. It's kind of like the idea Ebay was built off of. You sell your car to the highest bidder and they get a percentage. I'm sure if your local laws permit and you ask around you'll be sure to find something similar.

I cant beleive I didnt think of that myself, since thats the FIRST PLACE I PUT MY FIREBIRD UP! Haha, brainy no worky. Thanks though.

You might as well give up on eBay. People on there ask for too much for too little. I got extremely lucky and found a GEM for cheap with plenty of work already done to her. But, I've seen less sold for more. I just got lucky.

Keep looking around and be patient! Some guys wait years before they can find the right Fox Body.

Have you tried Craig's List? Good luck on your find.
