Default New Perfection Clutch for my 1991 Mustang GT

Got me a new Perfection Clutch New Clutch Set from Advance Auto Parts:

new-perfection-clutch-my-1991-mustang-gt-perfect-cliucth-new-clutch-set.jpg
PartsAmerica.com
Part Number: MU481M

KK95GT has one, and said that he liked it. In addition to Perfection, it says Zoom on the box. KK said that he saw Valeo stamped on his.
Might start removing the old one tomorrow, or Sunday. I'm still trying to find a place nearby, who can turn the flywheel.

Never heard of Perfection but heard of both of the others so maybe it's made by one of them? Hope you have good luck with it.

thats kinda weird, when i got my 87 i knew i had a heavy duty clutch in it, it grabed quick and hard, i pulled the tranny out and it said valeo on it, it was brand new so i didnt replace it, it was installed at midas by the prev. owner, the recipt said preformance clutch kit and it costed him 250 bucks for it then 300 to have to installed, thats why i do my own work
this is mine http://replacement.autopartswarehous...%20Kit&dp=true first one on the page, IMO they look the same, tell me how you like it

Default Mean Clutch

Meangreen, best of luck with the job. Things to also check out at the same time...

1. Transmission mounts. If they are the OE, they are probably shot (and pretty wimpy anyway).

2. Engine mounts. Passenger side always goes out first.

3. Aluminum driveshaft. Perfect time to replace that OE iron.

4. Rear oil seal. If its leaking, its time.

5. Bearings. Be sure to replace that pilot bearing.

6. Shifter. If the shifter needs help or adjustment, now is the time.

7. Transmission. Perfect time to drain the fluid and replace with synthetic. Royal Purple works good.

Hey, if I had your money, 3B...
It's underway, I just dropped the driveshaft, and came up to grab a spare yoke to put in the trans. Next is the H-pipe, the crossmember, the transmission, etc...

Just so you guys are aware, there are 3 major manufacturers of clutches in the world right now, Luc, Valeo and Sachs. Most others like Hays, Zoom,King Cobra, Perfection and most of what you find at your local auto parts store buys from one the these 3 and colors and stamps their name on them and re-sells them under their brand name. Some exceptions include Spec, Centerforce, Ram. There is nothing wrong with those brands at all. That's why you buy a Perfection clutch, open the box and it is stamped Valeo or is orange and is stamped Hays.
