Default 1988 mustang rear end and driveshaft

im putting an 89 mustang 5.0 motor in my mustang of 88.
i want to put in an 8.8" gear in the rear end, i want to know if i am going to have to replace the rear end to do this, and i dont know if i can use the same rear end and just replace the gear. but if i have to replace the rear end, would i also have to replace the driveshaft. i am hoping i can just replace the gear.
i also wanted to know if i can use the rear end out of a 2.3 with a T5 transmission on a 5.0 AOD transmission.

A 7.5" rear will not accommodate an 8.8" ring gear.

A 7.5" rear behind a 300 lb-ft torque engine is not recommended for an extended period of time.

Driveshafts do not have to be replaced when changing from a 7.5" rear to an 8.8" rear.

There is a lot of information on the 4cyl to 5.0 Swap on this board.

HEre is a good thread to read before you start swapping parts and laying out your plan. http://www.allfordmustangs.com/forum...0l-engine.html
