I'd suggest either Autolite, NGK, Champion, any of those are good but stick with copper. Forget the platinums. And any wire is good, just make sure the ohm resistance is 500 ohms per foot or less. Ford Racing (500 ohm), Accel Race Wires (150 ohm), MSD Super Conductors (50 ohm), or the Moroso Ultra 40 (40 ohm) wires would all be suggested.

I would go with Autolite 25s gapped to the Stock Gap of .054 and the Ford Racing Wires are hard to beat for the price.

Thanks
I appreciate the suggestions. I am kinda new to the hobby. Can someone explain the ohms per foot to me? Is that the rate of resistance through the wire?

I wholeheartedly agree that you should stay away from platinum plugs; copper are much better. As for wires, I've had a lot of success with Magnecor in other vehicles I've owned, and plan to upgrade my wires in the '83 GT to those as well.

Yes, ohms is the measure of resistance in a circuit. Less ohms, the more power it allows to the plugs. Stock wires can be up to 5000 ohms per wire, that's practically a broken wire.

Because 5.0s really like just plain standard plugs.

They are good for New Cars, but just stick with Regular Copper Plugs gapped to the Stock Gap of .054 in the Old 5.0 and use the Extra Money elsewhere on your car.

I just put Motorcraft Platium in my 87 and it back fired like crazy and did not run smoothly. I changed to Autolite 25 this weekend and its the best its ever ran. NO PLATIUM YES COOPER!
