Default Do I need a fuel pressure regulator?

I have a stock pump with 19lb injectors. Do I need a FPR? How does this make a difference in how the car performs?

stock injectors and stock pump, no you dont need one, you could run a lil more fuel thru the car with one, but you can gain better HP elsewhere.. wait till you get bigger injectors, etc.

If you were running a blower or nitrous you would need the ability to adjust how much fuel squirts into your engine. The more the boost/nitrous, the more necessary fuel & fine tuning. With no power adder, stock pistons, semi-stock heads & cam theres no need for more fuel.

Mark, I am assuming that you mean an adjustible one, since you need one to drive your car, and I agree with the others, I am running a stock fuel preasure regulator

Yes, an adjustable one is what I meant. The only reason I ask is that I am upgrading my upper and lower to a gt40 and while I had it out I would swap out the old one for future use.

If you ever plan to go with a power adder then yes, upgrade it now if you want. But with gt40 upper and lower (which is what i have) i dont think you'll see much improvement from fine tuning.
Just my 2 cents

The only time an adjustable regulator is needed is if you don't have injectors large enough for your combination, or you occasionally use NOS and need to up it during the shot time only. Adding an adjustable reg. to an otherwise stock setup is a waste of money. Even if you install one and bump up the fuel pressure, the ECU after getting signals from the O2 sensors will just shorten the pulse width on the injectors to obtain the required air/fuel mix. Once the air/fuel mixture is running lean, as in when you've upgraded heads, intake, exhaust or blown it etc. an adjustable regulator is required if you do not upgrade your injectors along with your fuel pump.
