Default What does doing all these modifacations do to gas milage?

I have a 95 gt I just bought. I want it to have 300+ horsepower.
Will my gas milage be affected by replacing intake and heads and everything else?

Not likely for the power level you want. Power is not increased much at cruising rpms over stock. I still get 21mpg interstate using a 3.73 gear. I use AFR heads, 10.5 CR, Holley intake, 30lb injectors, and a 575 lift cam. Compression increases efficiency.

I have twin turbo with 42 lbs injectors and got 27 mpg. My son's Mustang with heads intake, cam, T/B, meter, and 24lbs injectors gets around 23mpg.

Yeah it's in the tune, but it's more in the weight of your right foot.

Gas milage has too many variables .

Right foot and driving habits is the biggest factor.

But on the other hand more power requires more fuel so mpg shouldn't be a factor to this equasion.

If mpg is a factor then look into an econo box.

For sure if you drive like grandpa on a sunday cruise even a 600 hp beast will get good mpg's but why choke the motor to death by crusing it when it was made to run hard

The worst thing for a motor (any motor) is idling like taxi motors and police motors are really tired after 70,000 miles.

A little fact: 70,000 mile city motor = 250,000mile highway motor
