Default Shift kit or no shift kit?

Im taking my car in to aamco today to get my tranny fixed.
(no 4th gear O.D. is shot and it makes a crazy grinding sound when it wants to shift) I asked them if they could put a shift kit in when they have it apart and they told me that I probably would not like it,
that it will make my head snap and its very annoying....even at
low speeds. My question is how bad is it really going to be?
I have 4.10 gears with AOD. Anyone with the same set up have any input? or anyone with any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

i thought for sure that i wanted i shift kit in my old 93 but after i talked to all the local shops they talked me out of it because of the 50 thousand already on the the trans. if not for the milage issue i was going to install transgo's kit, B&M's is a 40$ pos.

put it in with your rebuild. it will save the trannys life beleive it or not, it has less slippage which mean it just grabs and goes, not slips for comfort. atleast the shift kit i got doesn't snap my neck. it would not only help your ET's it would prolong your tranny by keepin it cooler with less friction. thats just my two cents.

Get it! It wil make the car feel so much better, especially since you have the 4.10's already. Do it.

I personally would not opt for the shift kit, and get a manual valve body and bigger stall. I have a c-4 and I have a manual valve body and a 4200 stall with 4.10's. Just my .02
