Default Is my block ok after really bad rod knock

The other week I stared up my capri and it hade a slite knocking to it. so I turned it off to see if anything under the hood was loose I saw nothing so I let it sit for a few days till I could get some time to look at it. The next time I stared it up I did not hear anything for like five min. so I put it in gear to move it and it started to shake really bad and I heard a sound like part of the rod was just along for the ride it did not sound good so I was just wondering if any of you think that my block can be saved anything would be helpfull.

Hard to diagnose things like this through a post but more than likely it's a rod bearing that's quit on you. If that's the case, the block is probably fine but the crank would be another thing. Only way to know for sure is to get in there and survey the damage.

If the rod did come off you could still probably salvage the block with a sleeve. Assuming you know a good machinist anyway.
