Default tire size question, 265 fit on 1988 Mustang?

i want to put a wider tire on my stock rims on the back of the car.

can you fit 265's under those back fenders? or is 255 as far as you can go.

I took my quad shock off...I didn't really notice much...Sometimes you can get away with flipping it around. You might rub depending on how low you are, but you can "roll" your fender lips, but thats a PITA. Usually the rubbing is not too bad, and results in little to no tire wear.

The 265's will be slightly taller than the 255, take that into account. But you could squeeze a 275 under there if you roll the lip and flip/remove the quad and then have a 6 inch backspace. The backspacing will make all the difference getting them under there.
