Default Brakes locking up?

I just completed a 5 lug swap and disc upgrade. I have the cobra master cylinder and booster as well as the proportioning valve and 3/2 conversion kit everything that I was suppost to have. I followed all the directions. I think I may have damaged the booster puting it in because I had to hammer the corner alittle to get it in.
Anyways, the pedal is hard and after driving it around with a rock hard pedal the rear brakes start to seize up? I almost didn't make it back home! They got harder as I went along??? Does that sound like a booster problem? Or could it be something else maybe? If anyone has some info that would be great!

Is your pushrod adjusted properly? And is the Prop Valve set correctly?

Default Bolt Pattern

What bolt pattern should I be looking for? Is it the same for for the lincoln rotors I have in the front and the axels I have in the back? I know I should know this but hey, that's why I'm here. I don't want to buy the wrong spacers because I didn't ask first. Also I measured and it's going to be more than 1/2" to get clearance on the dust cap so I think I'm going to get the kind of spacer that has to be bolted on just to be safe.

If I remember correctly, the bolt pattern in 5 lugs on a 4.5" bolt circle.

I did my first brake conversion on my 93 notchback 2.3 last fall. I bought all the conversion parts brand new except for the spindles and the rear axle. I just wanted to upgrade the rear axle because of the Turbo i planed to install the next winter. I bought the ford motorsport axle kit with drums 300.00, the spindles and rear axle I removed from 89 GT stang parts car 0.00, rotors 85 SVO 40.00 ech, pads 85 SVO 29.00, Calipers 85 SVO 28.00 ech, Brake Hose 85 SVO 14.00 ech, I used the wheel bearings from the 89 GT car 0.00, Wheel Seals 2.00 ech, The rear brake lines on the axle had to be swaped from the 7.5 rear to the 8.8, I didnt change the Master Cylinder. You can see if you do this on a v8 car its pretty cheap and easy to do. This is by far the most basic swap you can do nothing fancy about it but it allowed me to put on 5 lug 17x9 in rear and 17x8 in front Bullet Wheels with 275/40Zr17 in rear and 245/45zr17 in front rubber. Their isnt any quad shocks installed in the rear, didnt pound the wheel well out or the lip they just barely clear in the rear, on the front however if you turn all the way one way they will just barely rub. I have put around 4,000 Miles on this project since the conversion ive had excellant braking and no issues. Also in the front i had to pound the center on the wheel bearing cap down to clear the center cap.

You just need some "Rack Limiters" up Front so your Bullitt Wheels and Tires wont rub on a hard turn.

Hey guys.

i just finished my five lug conversion on my 86. I got the AFS blackcut out 03 Cobra 17x8 and 17x9. I just took the e-brake handle out tonight and didn't know the 79-86s don't have a self adjuster... so I guess I can return that center cable. I'll have to double check the BS on my 17x9s but the 275s fit perfectly flush with the fenders, and if I have to roll the inner lip, no big deal...I work at a body shop... the 17x8s with 245s look great and are also flush with the fender using '96+ spindles...

The guy who posted earlier with th rears locking up...it sounds like maybe you didn't disable the self adjuster on the e-brake handle since now the calipers and e-brake are adjusting and putting too much pressure on the pads, over.

if i was you i would drive it with out the dust caps and find some sn95 spindles and use them on the front makes changing brakes easier and if you ever need rotors the are cheaper(i think) then the lincoln rotors and ypu can up grade 2 13" cobra's later if you wanted 2

You should be able to use any of the wheels made to fit a '94-04 Mustang. Any particular type and size of wheel you're wanting to use?

well one of my buddies has an 02 mustang w/ the OEM 17x8 bullitt rims & i put one on to see if it fit. it had a lot of room inside the wheel well and it was pretty close on the outside, im just gunna roll the fenders to be safe, there was maybe like 1/4" before it would rub the fender. but id really like to go with a 17x9 if i can find one with the offset & BS that id need to make them fit. any ideas on what that offset & BS would be? i was thinking like a 17x9 Mach 1 w/ 6.4" & +36mm or a 17x9 Bullitt w/ 6.8" & +45mm, both meant for the 05-09 mustangs.

My wheels are 17x9's and have a 6.125" BS. They are flush with the fenders. I had to roll the lip on the rear fenders also.

ok so your setup is 3/4" longer than stock and if you have a 6.125" BS then i would think a 6.8" BS would work, because my axles are out 1/2" further than yours. the rim w/ 6.8" BS has .675" more BS than yours and i would think that that would make up for the axle length difference. am i right?

Mine is 3/4" longer per side, for a total of 1.5" wider than a stock axle.

oh yea, i know, i got that. i just meant per side. but would a rim with 6.8" BS work, it has over 1/2" more BS than your rim, and my axles are out 1/2" more, per side, than yours.
