You'll need to install a set of C/C plates. I don't believe there is enough travel in the stock plates to allow the camber to be set properly. The wheels will lean out at the top. This may be part of what you're seeing if you haven't adjusted them already.

Default cheap conversion kit?

Guys,
An AutoZone assoc. told me about this site & I found this kit!
REAR BRAKE CONVERSION
It's $2300 less than the kit from FRPP. What do you guys think? Would you recommend buying this without actually seeing the used parts first?

I think that kit would be fine. All it is is a package deal on salvage SN95 rear brakes. You may be able to get the stuff yourself cheaper, although the kit does say it comes with new axles. You still have to address the front brakes, master cylinder/booster, and proportioning valve. I've never dealt with MPS before, but I've seen people on here recommend them and can't recall every hearing anything bad about them.

my friend who is going to help me w/ this conversion suggested i shop for new SN-95 GT components. so I think I'm going that route. (now that's not set in stone b/c i can't afford any brake parts yet.)
however thomas, i'm grateful to you for recommending (?) MPS; a vendor's reputation is important
i'll keep you guys updated as plans & execution of this conversion progress!

Do you have your Adjustable Prop Valve open all the way so that your getting full pressure to the rear for bleeding?

Yes had the Adjustable Prop open to full, and still nothing...we thought maybe the valve went bad (it was used already on the car) So we took it off and went with the straight connector and still just a few drops come out?????

Did you gut the stock proportioning valve also?

great info! I have a 5 lug conversion with parts from a 85 Lincoln continental wich includes the hydro boost system. which works great. and a 95GT Rear w/ 3:73's. couldnt be happier.. UNTILL NOW!

I just swapped rotors from the lincoln, BUT! you really can't use sn-95 wheels and later(I have Torque Thrust II's 17X8 frnt, and 17X9.5 back). SO, I want 99-04 cobra brakes.

BUT ANYWAYS! what is the deal with the parking brake? I have rear calipers from a 95GT so what do I need to do, to get them to work?

Ive read that you need to disable the ratcheting system? I don't know! Its driving me nuts!

Download the .pdf of the M-2300-K Cobra brake kit off the FRPP website. It will show you how to disable the stock parking brake adjusting mechanism. Then all you need is the Ford Racing parking brake cables.
