rear differential cover leaking, 1992 Mustang

my 92 has been leaking ever since i removed old cover and replaced with a trick flow, tried extra silicon but still leaks, retighted some loose bolts. but same results with leaks. is there something im over looking?

It could be a warped or uneven surface on the TFS cover. When you take it off, use a straight edge and a feeler gauge, see if the entire mounting flange is flat. Obviously check where the leak is first. If it's not flat, you could have it resurfaced flat.

where is the leak originating? If you have a drain plug/filler screw you need to silicone those also. They "weep" fluid from the threads.

i don't recommend using gasket sealer, i've had nothing but bad experiances with it. stick with the fel-pro cork gasket for the differential cover, i have one and it never leaks a drop.

ok , i purchased the cork gasket n will open up the cover n check it for roundness. i will give yous some feedback once i ve completed it
