Default EEC - Does it matter if from 5 speed or AOD

I have a 1992 LX 5 speed 5.0 and my computer is bad. Looked on ebay and other sites for one. Need to know if it matters about AOD or 5 speed? What else should I know before purchasing another EEC?

I have seen people do a T-5 swap and retain the computer for an auto so it is possible and it will work but I'm not sure if there is any loss or gain in power.
So yes it will work.

The two computers are different, but you could use a T5 with an automatic computer, but you shouldn't use an automatic with a T5 computer.
The automatic computer has different settings, the spark and fuel tables are different to make up for the transmission. They're not recommended to be interchangeable for those differences. Plus the automatic computer has that mode that happens when you put it in gear, how it'll idle down, and how it'll idle up when you put it in neutral or park.
