Default Blew my Header gasket

My drivers side header gasket is leaking, and it has been for some time. The reason I've been delaying is because I have heads on the way in about another month.

The ticking, though, has gotten to me. I'm gonna be replacing the gasket this week, but what type should I buy? I'm not looking for expensive permanent gaskets, since they're gonna be replaced soon.

Right now, there's MAC unequal length shorties over their copper gaskets.

Preferably, NOT a special order gasket.

I personally used the performance felpro gaskets. They're apparently metal lined for greater durability and longevity. If you have heads on the way, you might be able to get the felpros and use them until you replace your heads. They're pretty strong, so you could probably reuse them after replacing your heads. Just a thought, maybe you just have to tighten down the flange bolts. Copper gaskets usually just form right up and are totally reusable.

I had this same problem too TheMolar, except mine was passengers side. Its those damn copper gaskets, they are crap. I tried tightening, moving, retightening. The guys i got my headers from contacted MAC and they sent a replacment set that were good, not copper! And the new ones have held up great! So you could try contacting MAC but from what i hear they have terrible customer service. If not i would say felpro too.

Usually the gaskets that come with the headers should be used, but not with MAC. Those copper gaskets should be used on toilets. Mr. Gasket Uktra-Seal is best for the price, Fel-Pro if money is no object.

If given the option between having an exhaust leak and a toilet leak, I think I would rather have the former.
