1992 Mustang GT key won't go into the ignition lock

I have been fighting a problem with the starter never shutting down unless you disconnect battery. Replaced starter relay, worked a week, then failed again. Replaced with another relay, started and stopped, pulled out the key, went back to start and key won't go into the ignition lock. Probably worn out, but how do you replace it if you can't get the key in?

That sounds like a problem with the switch and lock assembly. You'll have to disassemble the column and get the old one out, and replace it with a new one. In other words, you have two different problems and both parts need replacing.

Thanks, I replaced the actual ignition switch last year, but I don't think that is the problem, because I can pull the small gauge wire off of the starter relay and the starter continues to crank. I don't have time to rebuild the collum, isn't there another way I can remove old tumbler assembly such as drilling it out or busting it out?
