Default Wheel rub on lower control arm

I know it seems to be a common problem with lowered mustangs for the rims to rub the lower control arm while turning at a sharp angle. I was wondering if anyone has ever modified their control arms, or if there are any affordable control arms that can fix this problem?

I have a 87 5.0 with the eibach 2 inch lowering springs.

I do not recommend modifying your stock control arms and do not know of any aftermarket ones that will solve your problem. I think your best bet would be to simply not turn as sharp or install some rack limiters.

There are stops for your rack so it wont let it turn so far

For sure, don't modify the arms, that would throw your geometry all out of whack. How wide are the tires, they sound too wide for the front.

While tubular control arms may give you more clearance, you could achieve the same results by changing your rim offset/backspace with differint rims or spacer plate. However; this must be a well planned move because as mentioned, your geometry change may result in overloading the wheel bearings causing premature failure.

As mentioned above, just use some Rack Limiters, they only cost a few bucks!
