Unplugging battery to wipe computer tables?

Hey Everyone,

I read something the other day that said after I do a lot of mods, like CAI, exhaust, cleaning MAF, that I should disconnect my battery for 20 minutes to wipe out the tables on the computer. Is this true?? I would have never thought about that!!!! It said that the tables would rebuild itself based on the new readings that it would be getting from everything.

I haven't tried it but I've also heard that you can disconnect BOTH battery cables and touch them togther. This momentary touch will "zero out" the computer as opposed to waiting the 20 minutes.

Make sure both battery cables are disconnected before you touch them together.
