Default oil pump shaft problem

i am building a 302 with an 87 block and it was fuel injected but i got an intake off an old ford truck.. the casting number says its a 75(d5) but the distributor shaft is 5/8's of an inch shorter, but the gears match up and it fits so i was wondering if i could get a longer oil pump shaft and how i could get one... thats in advance

I'm not sure but the ports on the truck intake and the 87 heads might not line up exactly. Your talking about an 87 roller block(I assume it is anyway) and a mid 70's intake here.

the port sizes are the same and everything matches up... i took the intake gasket from the truck and it lined up.. if it doesnt work tho i can take it back for another one(i hope i dont cuz its a 45 minute drive to get there) but the distributor will work if i can get a long enough oil pump driveshaft.. u are correct it is a roller block... and i forgot to say that i got the distributor and intake manifold

As long as the intake is meant for a 302, things should line up but what's the distributor out of?

i went to the junkyard and took the intake manifold carb and distributor of a mid 70''s truck(should've paid more attention) ... the carb and intake manifold are fine the manifold ports are maybe a 16th of an inch off from the heads but nothing porting cant fix but my oil pump shaft is too short(by 5/8's of an inch) and i didnt think to take the oil pump shaft from the truck... but i was wondering if i order one for a mid 70's truck if it would fit in my 87 roller block
