1990 5.0 clutch fan replacement question

hey there i recently took off my stock radiator clutch fan off of my 5.0 to install an aftermarket fan that bolts on to the cran pully. i took off the old fan and harmonic balancer too so now it's just the fan attached to the pully, i was wondering if i am supposed to put a newer balancer on it as well and if it can cause much damage to the engine thanks

An aftermarket fan that bolts to the crank pulley? I've never heard of it and doesn't sound like a good idea. How will it cool the radiator properly if it sits lower? You DEFINITELY need a harmonic balancer. You can/will cause MAJOR and catastrophic engine damage without it.

I've never heard of such a fan that attaches to the crank pulley.
