Turn signals, rear defrost, and heater stopped working!

Hey guys I need ideas for my 89 mustang lx 5.0. So one day I jumped in my car fired it up, the front and rear windows were fogged so I put both defroster ones. I realize that im not hearing any fan motor, and my rear defroster light is not on. I press the rear defrost switch a bunch and get nothing. I flick the selector switch on the heater controls through every setting and nothing. Then i jumped out and played with the neg(-) ground from battery to engine and suddenly i hear fan motor again. Sure enough everything is back to working.

I stop to get coffee before work and shut if off and come back up, fire my car up. Suprise those 3 things didnt work at all, played with the ground and sure enough they worked again. On my way home i pick up some new cables, probaly went a little bit overboard and got 1g for the ground and to the solenoid(not sure what to call it) on the fender. After im done I fire up the car and check my signals and get nothing. I try the heater nothing. But everything else works, four ways, radio, lights, dash lights, headlights, cigratte light all work great.

Everything else eletrical except for the signals, heater and defroster are working. Anybody have any ideas? i checked all the fuses including ohm test everything was great. Im wondering if my engine to chassis ground isnt good enough since its the stock one, any advice wouldbe great!

Sounds like a bad ground to your fuse box. What is the shape of the bolt you replaced the wire on? And yes, I would check the engine ground along with your alternator connections.

Replace the ground cable, especially if it's the stock connection. They get corroded and that needs to be corrected.
