Default What distributer to use 1984 HO in a 1971 Ford Mustang Grande

Since you all gave such good advice on the harmonic balancer I have another one for you all. Seeing that I have a 1984 HO installed in a 1971 Ford Mustang. It seems that the distributor that I have installed looks to be from the original 1971 SB 302 see pictures. I am looking for an upgrade that doesn't require points. I would like to know do I need to use a 1971 distributor or do I need to replace it with an 1984 distribitor? I would like to use MSD or Mallory. Any part numbers or advice would be helpful.

If you want MSD, I would suggest this one.

The Digital E Curve Pro Billet, part number 8503. It has adjustable electronic advance with vacuum advance, you can select from 100+ different curves through two rotary dials, a built in module so no external ignition box is necessary, a built in rev limiter and has a 3 wire connection. It's for restored muscle cars and street rods and also has a dedicated tach wire. Then red and orange to the coil and then a ground wire. That's it.
