Default 1984 Flex Plate Question

I wish I new these things before I purchased the car..... Anyway I have another question. This time it is about the Flex Plate. I know that I have a 1984 Block that currently has a 1972 or 73 Flex Plate installed. This is installed in my 1971 Ford Mustang. I can assume that it would be a 157 tooth 24oz, but not sure on how to check unless I remove it. Any Ideas? I know that I have a 1984 302 Block and I have order a 50oz Harmonic Balancer. It is a good thing I haven't take it on long trips. Can I use this 157 tooth externally balanced 50oz flex plate? Will having the new 50oz Harmonic Balancer and the new 50oz Flex Plate solve help the correct the engine balance? Thanks for all your help as I attempt to make this a daily driver once again.

If the engine is 1984, you need a 50 ounce balance flexplate. Are you sure the one you have now is 50 ounce? You could actually get a B&M flexplate for $50 and you'd be sure that was the correct one.
