Default 1990 mustang ticking noise?

Hey everyone
i hope you guys can help me find out whats wrong with my baby,it's bin one thing after another with her.
so i start the car an everything is fine up until the car warms up then i start to hear a ticking noise coming from the engine and it's not a random ticking, it's a constant ticking like maby from the cam or the heads.
so if any one has any idea what it might be it would be a big help.

thanks everyone
Greg

What does the oil pressure look like, sounds like the oil's getting thin after it warms up and letting the valves tick.

Could it be a lifter rod or a valve if it isnt the oil?

also might wanna check your header gaskets, if you have a bad gasket it will make a tick sort of sound....

I have heard Injectors tick from time to time on some of the fords I have had. Never tried to fik it though. I did pinpoint it to the injectors with a stethoscope though.

Change the oil and try some synthetic this time..Makes a big difference! If your oil pan is leaking then the bolt is stripped or you have a bad gasket.. It is VERY hard to change the oil pan in the 5.0 foxes! You have to actually lift the motor a little out of the car just to wedge the oil pan out.. Well thats the way it was on our '93 Cobra.. I am sure it will be the same!

If it's a leaky pan gasket, it'll require lifting the engine enough to get the pan out, since it's a dual sump pan it'll take quite a bit of room to get it out.

The low oil pressure doesn't sound good, does it at least have good pressure at cold start up? It could be worn bearings causing low pressure, and that's starving the valvetrain for oil. You might try a step thicker oil as a temporary fix but it won't solve the problem.
