I have a 1989 lx 5.0 that had a fire that affected the area around the battery. I had to replace the wiring on the driver's side of the engine back to the firewall.

I have never heard the engine run, but I assumed that it probably had to be running at the time of the fire or it wouldn't have caught on fire.

I am pretty confident that I have everything back together right. I have power to lights, radio, fan,windows and locks. The engine turns over with the key, but it won't fire up.

I am leaning towards the computer being bad but I would like to hear a few other opinions on it.

Have you checked for fuel and spark?

The ignition wiring could have been damaged by the fire, inspect the coil and distributor wiring.
