Yeah that is the side my air fuel gauge is on the o2 sensor is in the bung just before that...Could it be that my intake being the stock on and not having an EGR spacer and me just having a gasket over it causing way to much heat in the intake/exhaust? The weird thing to is my car doesnt smoke at all getting on it...just blows a huge cloud say after i get off a long highway run or it i let it idle for a while like at a long traffic lite...but only blows out a puff 1 time and wont do it for a long time after that...That port under my carb is wide ope and full of carbon that has to be backing up into the intake some how no?

Yeah it probably would but I still don't see why it would make it so hot there. Maybe some of the carb guys on the site could give some insight on the subject???? Anyone??

Yeah i could agree on that but....I have an A/F gauge wouldnt that tell me its runnig leaning?... also why just one side and just that spot? wouldnt my headers be glowing red which they dont...i dont think they do....

That's a hot spot alright but it doesn't necessarily have to be a problem with the engine. It could be a thin spot on your pipes coating and it's coming off of it. MAC's coatings here lately haven't exactly been the best, I have MAC and that looks like the pipes themselves being the problem, not the engine.

when the intake valve opens, there is still pressurized exhaust gases in the chamber and they get pushed into the intake before the piston movement down the bore starts creating a vacuum top pull them back into the cylinder. Hence it leaves deposits in the intake - and it costs power.

Oh can that cause a build up of pressure enough to cause a PUFF of smoke now and then out of the exhaust...I can drive the car and have no smoke bit once in awhile i get a huge cloud out the tails then it doesnt do it for awhile again?

not likely, the puff out the back is either gas, oil, or coolant - if you or someone else can see color of the puff, generally black/gray = gas; blue/white-ish = oil; white also could = coolant.

Well from the smell it sure seems like Gas....raw gas...lol... it is like a blackish/grey color....I never loose any oil or coolant...so im hoping the intake..is causing all these problems..i dnt have an EGR valve, spacer anymore and i have no block off either..i just have a gasket covering the hole..and that gasket always burns thru...so the only things that stops it from leaking is the phenoilc spacer for now...time for a new intake...
