Cool Transmission question 93 vert

I have a C-6 to bolt to my 302 i'm building for my 93 mustang convertable. My question is will the C-6 fit into the tunnel I can make mounts. I just wanted to know if anyone here has done this. I will be dragracing this car only no street use it's getting gutted and rac-I-fied.

The C6 is almost 3.5" longer with a slightly lrger converter housing. It may be tight and heat will definitely be a factor.

The whole trans is wider-there's a BIG servo cover on one side that really makes things tough.I just put in a 351W with a C6 into a 1985 Mark 7 and it needed major hammer surgery on either side to get it to sit in there properly. The left(driver)side of the tunnel needed so much that the tunnel hit the gas pedal. The brake bracket needed to be bent over and the gas pedal moved 2" to the left to keep it all neat.

By the way-on this car a chevy Astro driveshaft is a perfect fit-the large C6 yoke adapts directly to the chevy as does the rear drive flange to the axle.

My question would be, Unless you have a butt load of power, why use a c6? It is very heavy and take lots of power to make it work. With any trans swap there will always have to be modifications made. Beating your tunnel cover is not one!

I have a 460 in a 93LX with a Chevy 400 trans. I did not have to do any what so ever beating!! I slip the motor and trans attacted in at one time.

I have not gotten in a full pass yet. Best 60' is 1.45 and best 1/4 10.7. I'm still trying to get it dialed in. I had an accident last year after a wheelstand and an incounter with the wall! Should be firing up since the accident in about two weeks.
